My first try of a pastel landscape: Putuo Mountain

My first try of a pastel landscape! I can't wait to see how it turns out. Here are some of the progress.

Landscape in pastel feels really different from doing a portrait. Instead of using layers to build up color, everything is just using the actual color to capture what is going on in the photography. This picture was taken in June 2018 in Putuo Mountain, Shanghai, China. I am fascinated by the juxtaposition between the Indian yellow wall and the sap green vine.
